Upper Pointe Coupee Elementary’s Journey to Career students tested their STEM skills. Their facilitator, Ms. LaTosha L. Nelson and her assistant, Ms. Venessie Johnson, gave each group 25 sheets of white copy paper. The groups were told that the each structure had to be able to support the weight of books located in the classroom. The winning group members were Adjah Johnson, Jarius Johnson, Mariah Landheart, and Makyah Landheart. Their structure supported 18 dictionaries, 2 packs of copy paper, and 1 basket. Other groups created excellent structures that supported a minimum of 10 dictionaries.
